How would you like to be really well prepared for birth?
I would love it if every woman went into birth feeling like a goddess and came out the other side feeling as though her birth was something that she would like to do over again.
Unfortunately this doesn't happen for as many women as I would like.
As a Hypnobirthing teacher I have seen women and their partners invest time and money in courses that will help them to birth more easily and yet quite often things take an unexpected turn and some of this learning is put aside when the birth becomes medicalised. (Thank goodness we have this option when it is needed).
I believe that Hypnobirthing has improved birth for the vast majority of women BUT I think that potentially there is 'room in the womb' for a little more information.
As antenatal educators we often speak to women about the importance of movement - not sitting for too long, not sitting back so that you are sitting on your sacrum, being aware of sitting and gravity and the effects on the baby's position.
I would like couples to be aware of exercises that they can do before and during labour that can help balance the mothers muscles in her pelvis (pelvic floor) and so help the baby to navigate the mothers pelvis more easily.
Hypnobirthing & Spinning Babies is my new offering. I have decided to add a Spinning Babies component to my classes from the New Year because I feel that it could make a very real difference.
